We all have a song that captures our spirit and inspires us to live courageously. Many of us cherish favorite songs that help us unwind after a hectic day or get us moving on the dance floor. Music can also serve as a powerful gateway to evoke strong emotions. Mary, Queen of Angels was honored to represent Leading Age Tennessee at the recent National Leading Age conference held at the Music City Center in Nashville. Participants selected the songs that held the most meaning for them and shared why this song inspired them.
The graphic artist used sound waves and lyric filters to create these unique portraits, which were displayed at the Jimmy Dickens Terrace of the Music City Center from October 25 to November 1, 2024.
This public exhibit celebrates the intergenerational bond between elders and staff. Music has the power to empower you, inspire bravery, narrate your life’s highs and lows, and lift your spirits on challenging days. It is an anthem that encapsulates your inner strength and courage—your Walk On Song.      

Mary Queen of Angels, Queen's Court Program was honored by Leading Age TN as Innovator in Action for 2022. Here to serve and encourage residents to "Celebrate Life Every Day" we are honored daily to provide care to those who choose Mary, Queen of Angels as their home. The "Queen's Court" is to honor our residents as family members that have shared life with us for five years or more.  Celebrating longevity, successful quality of care, friendships, life, and successful living.  Queen's Court is an innovative approach to recognize our residents and build a positive community culture.

Mary Queen of Angels is honored to have the caregiver of the year for Leading Age Tennessee working with our residents.  Barbara Murthy was honored with this prestigious award in July 2019.  Barbara began working at Mary, Queen of Angels when the building opened in 2001.

She has been a dedicated employee, a role model and a valued trainer for new employees for the last 18 years. She is a true jewel in the crown of Mary, Queen of Angels. Barbara is an example of the outstanding caregivers and staff working at Mary, Queen of Angels.            

Our Dining Team was awarded the honor of "Innovator of the Year" at the 2017 LeadingAge Tennessee Annual Conference held in Franklin, TN. LeadingAge Tennessee is an association of communities and professionals providing quality housing, healthcare, and related services for the elderly. Leading Age recognized our Dining Services team for their improved  expanded menu with the successful adaptation of the streamline ordering system, "TOAST." The new program

"A Touch of Excellence in Dining" utilizes electronic ordering for the restaurant style menu provided.  Orders are wireless sent to kitchen for streamlined response times and increased ability to order specific items to meet the residents desires. We are honored to have an exceptional dining services at Mary, Queen of Angels.     

Mary, Queen of Angels has been awarded the 2015 Best of Assisted Living award. The award was received from SeniorAdvisor.com.  SeniorAdvisor.com is an innovative website that provides easy access to the information a family may need when making senior care decisions. The awards celebrate the best in senior living and home care across the United States. This award places the winners in the TOP one percent of senior care providers nationwide according to those who matter.... their families. Lyndsey Gower, Mary Queen of Angels Executive Director, quotes "We are honored to be recognized with this elite group of providers and love hearing great testimonies from our families."    

Leading Age of Tennessee an association of communities and professionals providing quality housing, health, community and related services for the elderly. LeadingAge Tennessee represents and promotes the common interest of its members through leadership, advocacy, education, communication and other services in order to enhance member’s ability to serve their constituencies.  

During the 2015 Annual Conference, Mary Queen of Angels was award the associations award for INNOVATOR of the year for their "Celebrate Life Program". This program is designed to help residents contribute and be involved in everyday life.  Components of the program include: The Hour of Power, Block Parties, Neighborhood Competitions and Welcome Home Ambassador Program.
